Depends on where you are. In the US, the Hauppauge HVR-900 is about $70.
It is USB2 The HVR-1600 is a a PCI card, but had a dual tuner -- one SD
and one OTA HD.

Hi and thanks for the quick reply.
Yes, I'm in the US, more specific California.
Will the 1600 do over the air HD?

I have Media Center 2005 (might upgrade to Vista) but would like to
record HD that is freely available over the air and honestly, not to
sure how to go about that. I assume that all I have to do is plug in
the appropriate TV card? I also will be using my Xbox 360 as an
extender, will I be able to watch the recorded HD shows on the
extender to my HD LCD?

(I'm hoping I'm making sense here)

Yes to all questions. The PVR-900 also does HD, but not SD, and is USB2.

Be sure to read the following:

For MCE05 you need an ASTC tuner before you add an NTSC tuner. Also, make
sure your graphics card meets MCE minimum requirements.
I use AverMedia AVerTVHD MCE A180 tuner and GeForce 7600 GS graphics card.

You have that backwards. You need an NSTC tuner before you add an ATSC
tuner.

From what I have read, you can borrow an NTSC tuner, install it, configure
the ATSC tuner and remove the NTSC tuner.

Vista removes this restriction.
