My Toshiba Satellite (17") once fell down because the carrying bag's belt

As a result the DVD rewriter is dead now!

So r we facing future when all laptops will be made
just for couple of months use and then thrown to trash bin ?

I noticed that Toshiba laptops are getting pretty cheap - comparable to
HP, as well as Sony Vaio.

GA.

I kind of thinks so...yes

That's why I'm hesitant to buy a laptop as an "only" PC
for home use

And instead have been thinking abt going back to a
desktop and some kind of ultra-small solid state
Internet device to carry around if needing to be
mobile. I never liked lugging around even the smallest
laptop when I did have one. they were just never small
enough for me.

I bought a closeout Nokia N770 internet tablet about 6 months ago, and
used it extensively on my last business trip a few weeks ago. It's Wi-
Fi reception was as good or better than my ThinkPad, and it can fit
into my pocket. The virtual keyboard with a stylus is certainly not
as easy to use as a laptop's keyboard, but it sure was nice not having
to lug the ThinkPad through airport security, and worry about it
"walking off."

I have thought abt the new Nokia 810 myself!!

In fact..... I'm thinking of a Dell Optiplex or
Precision for home desktop..... and Nokia 810 for on
the go.
