-> This is just an observation/opinion, don't take it the
-> worng way - but I can't help noticing that most of those
-> "Yes" answers seem to involve pushing a viewpoint on the
-> public, supporting this party, enforcing this, abolishing
-> that...
-> And yet in the Scriptures I don't read that sort of thing
-> from the man himself whom Christians are (apparently) meant
-> to be emulating. Shouldn't "true" Christians be more concerned
-> with their own personal choices and a bit less worried about
-> controlling those of others?
But authoritarianism is at the heart of the monotheistic religions -
Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc. The whole idea is that Big Brother
in the Sky is watching our every move, preparing to sit in judgment
over us at some time in the future. Even you show authoritarian
tendencies when you imply that, if you had found anything in the bible
to support Min's attitudes, you would have accepted it and presumably
submitted to it. That's not the attitude of a freedom-loving person.
Personally, I am happy and proud to be a member of the class that Min
so detests, a liberal, Bush-hating atheist. And the fact that Min loathes
me just makes me even more happy and proud.
