You guys are great for helping me.

This new day brings additional information - the problem is program
dependent (right now I'm only bringing in CBC, the plan is to buy a
large antenna once I have everything working). Some programs have only
a border at the top and bottom like this (I am sorry, the Doddlebops
were on);

...and others have a border at the top, bottom AND both sides like

My analogue channels all fill the screen perfectly however. (Analogue
channels come from Hauppauge card, not FusionHDTV5).

Video card: ATI Radeon X300 SE
CPU: Pentium 4, 3GHZ
Codec: Intervideo Video Decoder. I'm not a codec expert, so I've
included printscreens to show how I got this information, and all of
the other decoders (decoder is a codec?) on my machine here;
