 So I guess we know its something to do with corrupted Windows files,
not WDS/MSN toolbar files.

Maybe using system restore will have the same effect? Would be great if
someone could try that out....topcat007?

Very simple effective solution: disable it as a browser add-on.


A friend had this problem. It would pop-up whenever he tried IE or any
other desktop shortcut (i.e. My Computer). He asked me to help him remove or
disable it. I was able to quite easily.


msntb_toolbar is a browser add-on. Correct?

So, what I did was DISABLE it as an add-on.

Windows has a box that will show you all the browser add-ons that are
running. Within it, there is an option to highlight any add-on and select
"disable".

So I simply choose to disable it as a browser add-on. I didn't remove it
or anything like that. Simply disabled it.
