It's been many months since this issue was discussed (It's November now, this
discussion was back in March), but I'm now having this problem. I suppose
the software has updated itself overtime, but I need to uninstall MSN Search
now due to Explorer hangs.
It happens when the index is being built. It isn't right away, but
eventually I can no longer interact with windows/apps running on my system,
though they aren't necessarily hung (yet). I've let the system sit in the
state overnight, but it's no better in the morning. This does not happen
when the indexer is idle or paused.
Very frustrating that this can be happening. XP has been very stable for me
and I've rarely (if ever) had an application HANG the system. I've had
drivers crash my PC, but not applications.
I wonder how many people have this problem and don't know to look here for
assistance and therefore of course don't post here.
