I recently upgrade from Win 98 to Xp. since then none of my programs or the
computer itself recognizes my CD R/RW drive. I have done the "regdit" thing;
contacted microsoft support & no one can seem to help me. I have a record
tab but nothing is listed in th description box & th efile system says
unknown. All applications say "No device found" I have asked about driver
updates but got not answer. My Cd r/rw drive is a IDE-CD R/RW 4x4x24. I had
Direct CD v. 2.5D, Easy CD Creator v. 3.5C, & UDF Reader V 1/01 but had
problems & was told to unstall them. I have tried everything I know. Please
help.

I suspect you need to get a later version of Easy CD Creator and/or maybe a
later CDRW drive.

Easy CD Creator went out of business several years ago, they are now Roxio.
I don't think Direct CD v. 2.5D works in Windows XP.

I prefer Nero.

You might try turning on the CD recorder function in Windows XP.
Right click the CD drive in Windows Explorer, left click properties,
Recording tab.
Check Enable CD recording on this drive.

Easy CD Creator and Windows XP CD recording do not happily co-exist. You may
need to remove Easy CD Creator and DirectCD.

It would be a good idea to read Windows XP's Help and Support on "cd
recording" without quotes
