Hi Franky,
WM6.0 is not compatible with ActiveSync 3.8. You will need to install
ActiveSync 4.2 or higher. If you are upgrading from a WM2003 device then
yes you will find some of the features are missing in WM5.0 and higher
versions.
I have never lost data after upgrading but have encountered a few random
episodes of duplication. Its been a while since I upgraded to ActiveSync
4.5 but if memory serves me right, it will not detect the original
partnership after you install it. You will need to recreate the
partnership.
Would suggest you to perform a complete sync before you install ActiveSync
4.5 as you will then have all the data on your PC. After installing 4.5,
setup a partnership and the very same data should synchronize back to your
mobile device.
