Problem 1
I installed ActiveSync 4.1 on a Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition.
I use Pocket PC with windows mobile 2002 and 2003SE.
Before i had Activesync 3,7 and everything worked fine.
If the computer is running and opened with the domain user and password,
when i put the pocket pc on the cradle, the pocket makes the connection with
activesync and everything works.
If i lock the computer on the password with CTRL+ALT+DEL two things happen:
1) If the pocket pc was already wth the connection it continues to work fine
2) If i put the pocket pc on the cradle and the computer is already locked
with password protection, the activesync connection never works, until i
logon again.

Problem 2
I uninstalled Activesync 4.1 and installed again the 3.7 version.
No problem with unistalling and installing the older version.
Now i put the ppc on the cradle, the connection is established but when i
try to open the activesync window on the computer nothing happens. It doesn't
open.
If i try to install something on the ppc through activesync, nothing is
installed.
I already unstalled Activesync 3.7 and install it again but the problem
continues.

Can anyone helps me?

Hi!

Well, problem number 1 is a feature - sort of - of Active Sync 4.*.
Anyway, even Microsoft support advises not to use Active Sync 4.* if
you're not using a Windows Mobile 5.0 device.

So going back to AS 3.*** was quite the right thing to do, but there's a
little catch in it. Uninstalling AS 4.1 leaves in your %
systemroot%/system32 the newer versions of rapi.dll and ceutil.dll (which
have to be present for development environments) which won't work
properly with older versions of ActiveSync. Delete those manually and
install AS 3.7 then, this should give you back the old state.

Thanks Kertins. It worked fine. I'm again on 3,7 version.
