I had a HP 1915, but the touch screen quit responding (no matter where I
tapped, it acted like I was just tapping the 'START' button). Before doing a
hard reset, I ran 'backup.' The hard reset didn't help because now it just
keeps looping back to the touch-screen calibration no matter how many times I
go through the calibration.
So, I purchased a 2200 series iPAQ and tried to do a 'restore', but got an
error message that you can't restore from a backup created for an earlier
version of the PPC OS.
My question is, what can I do to get these files to my new iPAQ, short of
buying a functional 1900 iPAQ and manually copying them? Please help!
-Brian

Hi,
ActiveSync's backups are specific to the Pocket PC make, model and revision.
So you cannot restored from a 1900 to a 2200.

I suggest that you take a look at Sprite Backup

How does Sprite backup help to restore a backup from a different program and
machine to his new one without buying another old machine first?

Sprite has focused on making their backups work across different Pocket PCs.
This is one of the main reasons people buy it.

Yes, but can it use an activesync backup from a machine that he no longer
has? Or must it be a Sprite backup taken from his original machine to allow
this to happen?
