New info. The free Pocket PC media player called TCPMP can play u-law
encoded wave files. And it can be associated with the .wav extension
and configured to play the file and exit when you click on a .wav
file. works great. The negatives are you have to load a full blown a/v
player to just hear a small audio file and you can no longer click on
a GSM encoded wav file and play it.
What we really need is a replacement for the built in sndplay.exe
utility that can play the currently supported formats and u-law files.
Anyone seen such a beast or have any ideas on how you would go about
writing one?
