Plans for 64-bit support? Karl Z 01-13-2006

What are the plans for supporting 64-bit operating systems? (And why can't
this install in the 'Program Files (x86)' directory and work?)

I know there is a push to have people use 64-bit OSs, but if the really nice
tools are NOT available on them, then it makes migrating a challenge. If I
were a member of the Windows Server 2003 x64 or the Windows XP x64 team, I'd
be pretty upset.

Thanks,
Karl

NOTE: Google Desktop does work on a 64-bit OS. So now if I were a member of
the MSN Search team I'd be upset that failure to support 64 bit operating
systems will increase the Google Desktop "market share" at roughly the same
rate that 64 bit OSs increase market share.

Plans for 64 bit support have not been announced yet, unfortunately.
I can't answer the second part as I don't have a 64 bit system running.
