Palm seem to have trailed the field a little getting their desktop
software ready for Vista - Grrrrr!

Never mind, I've got it working on Vista Home premium for sync anyway in
the meantime while we await the promised beta of the Vista compatible
version. Just one slightly funny thing - Palm desktop runs OK on Vista,
but insists in being run in Admin mode. I accept that, but even after
configuring the compatibility part of the shortcut to run in XP mode and
run as admin, it still wants the admin account password every time I
start it. As I said, not a huge problem, just a little niggle. Anyone
else running it OK in Vista at the moment? And does anyone have any idea
when we could possibly expect the Vista compatible version to come out?
(I dream!!!) Thanks.

Nobody told Palm that Vista was coming, it was only delayed by years,
and was only in RTM stage for several months before being dropped into
the public view.

Palm doesn't exactly keep up with the rest of the world with their PDAs,
why should their desktop software fare much better?

Yes, I agree with you on all points, although plenty of other software
producers were "Vista'ed" in time. I was a long time Pocket PC user who
bought a second hand m515 a couple of years ago and I would never want
to go back. Palm just does it so well. At least I can still sync the
address book and scheduler with the PC thank goodness. I would love to
be able to afford a nice modern one, but then again the old 515 seems to
crank away just fine. It not only organises my life but I am also an
avid reader of ebooks, so you can imagine it gets a huge amount of use,
both during work and play.

Thanks for the thoughts anyway - we will live in hope, although I
suspect Palm may be getting to the slightly weary end of the business cycle.

Sheesh! Had Palm hotsync for the address book & contacts etc working OK, but
this morning it ding-a-lings when I hit the hotsync button, then a couple of
seconds later ding-a-lings again and logs off without syncing. Nothing I do
seems to make it want to sync again. Has anyone any thoughts about this? Now
I'm getting frustrated! Thanks.

Reboot the PC, PDA, or move it to a different USB port (Yes, this is
shotgunning the problem, but it's easier then trying to figure it out)
