Palm Treo 750 will not connect to ActiveSync via Bluetooth Snapper 02-15-2008

I have a laptop which runs Windows XP Pro SP2 and it has a bluetooth
adapter built in.

I can get my wife's Nokia to access it and to transfer photos, etc.
However when I installed ActiveSync on it and configured it to connect to
my Palm Treo 750 neither device can detect or connect to each other.

The Treo is running Windows Mobile 6.

I have followed the instructions to the letter. I'm assuming now that
there may be a fault with the unit. However, it's difficult for me to
fault find as I don't really know what I should be looking for.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had this problem.

I can ActiveSync it via the standard USB connection on my desktop
computer, though.

Main reason for wanting to do this is that I'd like to use the Treo to
'sync' the Outlook data on both laptop and PC (calendar and contacts
data).

Hi,
Did you select the Bluetooth Adapter in File - Connection Settings? Did you
partner the Treo 750 with the PC before trying to sync?

In some cases the Bluetooth driver on the PC does not support the profile
that is required to connect the Pocket PC. Another issue is that some
Bluetooth drivers require you to configure a Bluetooth serial port on the PC
before you can sync.

Yep, tried all that. Can't even get them to partner. The PC sometimes sees
the Treo, but the Treo can never see the PC. Well, laptop, actually.

I've given up on it, just as I've given up on the Treo. Waste of 600 bux.

Hi,
Did you make sure that the exceptions for the software firewall was enabled?

I don't run a software firewall. I rely on the modem/router with NAT/SPI
firewall to do the work for me.

So, I doubt that it is this.

Anyway, I've never had any real success using Bluetooth on any of our
computers, whether it's the built in adaptor for the laptop or a Belkin
USB adaptor that I've moved from PC to PC. It always seems to be a hit and
miss affair. mainly with the Nokia phones trying to get photos and videos
off the unit.

In the end I bought a MicroSD card adaptor and removed the card from the
phone and transfered them the old fashioned way - using Windows
Explorer...

Anyway I can't get the Treo to pair with a GPS navigator to use the hands
free feature.
