Pairing A Bluetooth Headset With ANew Phone Scott 12-12-2007

I retired my Nokia 6103 and replaced it with an AT&T Tilt. My Motorola
H700 Bluetooth Headset worked fine on the old phone. When I ask the Tilt
to pair with the H700 headset, it finds a bluetooth device, but identifies
it as a "Nokia 6103" (my old phone's). My Nokia phone is off and bluetooth
is switched off. When answering a call, the headset beeps several times
when I push the main button in the middle, but it doesn't answer.

Is there a way to make this setup work?

If not, how can I find out what bluetooth headsets are compatible with the
Tilt? I see where www.tiltdepot.com is selling this H700 for the Tilt.

Thanks!
Scott

In the options, click "discover unpaired devices" and it should show your
headset too.
Pair it with the password provided (0000 or 1234 or 1111), then change back
the option to "connect to paired devices only" for security.
Cheers,
Steffo

This is just a wild guess, but I suspect the Moto is still paired to the
6103, and is refusing to pair with a new phone. On my (non-Moto) headset,
you can clear the old pairing by putting the headset into "pairing mode"-
you hold the talk button "forever" (about 10-12 seconds) and the light
flashes rapidly, indicating it's ready to pair with a new phone. Maybe the
Moto is similar?

Problem solved! Someone at the AT&T store showed me how to properly set up
the H700 earbud so it could be recognized by the Tilt phone. It was recognized
instantly and no longer thought it was a Nokia 6130 phone.
