Gone from 3 to 4 on my homepage, all other pages now 3 (was mix of 3, 2 and
1). I'm nervous as I was in the 25-35 region in SERPs for my keywords and,
as of five minutes ago, I'm 6. If it's not a temporary blip that's a damned
good jump!!!!

I thought the days of watching PR every five minutes were long gone...
Guess not. Well, if you are jumping to PR6, then definitely not :) Think
of all the links you can start selling now! [wink]
Come to think of it: my site actually lost a point recently - down to PR3
with no effect on traffic whatsoever.

A couple of thing you may want to note:
1. PR has very little effect on SERP rankings, although both can
sometimes occur simultaneously. Essentially, in deploying a search
engine marketing strategy, you should make a choice between gaining PR
and gaining ranking in competitive keyphrase environments. Each will
require its own strategy (one requires gaining link popularity,
usually artificially, the other requires developing more and better
optimized content).
2. Jumping ranking positions can often be a result of the search
engine regeneration, which occurs continuously. Keep an eye out for
your web page's descent. Should it return to its deserved position
then I would suggest you start looking at your web content and find

innovative ways to improve it in order to gain and sustain
higher SERP rankings.
