I have configured my C500 SmartPhone to download email from my POP3
server. This works great. However the settings only allow the
automatic download at set intervals (15mins/1 Hour/2 Hours/etc). Is
there any way to set the download to say every hour during peak times?

Cheers

Tom

not without writing your own program that would change values in registry in
certain times.

Hi Tom,

I have a C500 to, but I could not find any software that can manage POP3 Email
...
The default 'Messages App' only has 3 menus : MMS, SMS and Outlook and in the
Outlook options there is nothing about POP
account ...

Perhaps are you using a third-party application ??

Thanks to hilight my brain ;o)

There is a step by step guide on the orange website somewhere, under
phone email functions or something.

Basically i spent ages trying to sort out the outlook thing, thinking
it was something to do with that. but actually you need to create a
whole new lot of settings. Here goes from memory and my phone
settings:

1. Create a new GPRS Data connection:
        Start
        > Settings
        > Data Connections
        > Menu
        > Edit Connections
        > GPRS Connections
        > Menu
        > Add

2. Give it the following settings:
        Connects to > The Internet
        Access point > orangeinternet
Username > orange
        Password > orange (i think)
Primary DNS > 158.43.240.4
        Everything else blank

3. Call the connection something, in my case i went for my ISP name

4. Bank into Data connections (Start> Settings > Data Connections) and
change teh Internet connection to the name of the new connection you
created.

5. Go into messaging (Menu > Messaging) and select any option. Then
select Menu > Options > Account Setup > Menu > New

6. Give it the following settings:
        Your Name
        Your Email
        Remove Automatic Setup
        [NEXT]
Enter your Mail Server Username and Password
        Domain > Blank
        Check save password
        [NEXT]
        Server Type > POP3
Account Name > What you used in step 3
        Network > The Internet
        [NEXT]
Incomming server > Your ISP POP3 mail server
        Outgoing Server > smtp.orange.net
Nothing else needs to be entered/selected
        [NEXT]
        [NEXT]
If you are rich set Every 15 Minutes
        [NEXT]
        [FINISH]

7. Return the Home > Start > Messaging > Your New Mail Account > Menu
> Send/Receive

This should be working now.

Let me know if you get stuck.

Cheers

For those of you in the US - try this site - worked great for me...(doubt it
works in other countries)

www.mywindowsmobile.com

Microsoft site that will configiure POP3 email accounts for you - very
cool - and it will let you pick a bunch of URLs to add to your favorites -
then sends you an SMS that sets it all up.
