 1. I have many documents in pdf format stored on this computer. I've
downloaded, I think, the appropriate add-ins to WDS, but nowhere that I can
find actually reports what add-ins are in use or have been downloaded. I've
attempted to run several tests to see if WDS finds text within PDF files.
I've not had any successful hits yet. GDS does find PDF text within the
files (it uses a scansoft add-in, omnipage, I think). So how do I tell if
the pdf search function is, in fact, working?

2. I don't see any general instructions for assisting in learning the
various WDS functions; no doubt there is such, but I've missed it. Where
would I find it?

 same problem on my Notebook & PC.

PDF IFilter proper installed (LookOut works) but in WDS no PDF indexing.

Update:

WDS 02.06.0000.2083 - DOES NOT WORK

MSN 02.05.0000.1082 - DOES PROPER WORK

I am using WDS 2.06.5000.5373 with the Adobe PDF add-in found at
http://addins.msn.com/addins_category_desktop.aspx and it is indexing PDF
files properly.

Hi Vaughn,

how can i find your Version? Its the english one? I use the german version,
it seems, that its a step behind?

The IFilter plugins are all propper installed. i used LookOut before without
any problems
