Outlook open new IE instead of new tab

When I click on a link in Outlook it opens a new instance of IE. Is there a
way to make it just open a new tab in the current IE?

Even clicking a link opens a new IE instead of a new tab. I don't see any
options to change it, but maybe somebody will come up with a way.
