I have a user who is trying to sync is Pocket PC with an Exchange 2003 server
through a USB cable connected to his PC.

In Exchange all the features are enabled (Outlook Mobile Access, User
Initiated Sync, Up-to-date Notifications) for this user.

In his Pocket PC he has the proper address for the server and his login
credentials entered.

When we connect the Pocket PC to his PC with the USB cable, Active Sync
recognizes the device and tries to sync. The sync fails and the error is
85010016. I can’t find anything about this error in support.microsoft.com.

Thanks for any ideas

Bill

The error corresponds to HTTP_502 - "An error response was received
from the HTTP gateway.
- OR -
Synchronization failed due to an error on the server."

I'm assuming that when he connects via USB he is connecting from
within the firewall for the network, whereas when connecting via GPRS
he is coming from external to the network. Is the front-end server set
to properly receive logins from inside the network (ie is the firewall
set to pass information out of the internal network, then back in)?
