I set up my Exchange server to support OMA. My Smartphone Audiovox SMT
5600 works great by going to the URL. But instead of using a web-based
browser solution on the phone, is there a way to run a rich client on
the phone instead of pocket IE? what would even be better is a way to
have new email messages automatically sent to the phone and alert me.
any solutions out there?

Use server base activesync to bring it down to the phone (I do this every 15
minutes).

When you phone supports it, you can also use push email to have it brought
down immediately.

Eric,

I got server-based activesync to work pretty painlessly (considering) but am
looking for documentation on how to set up the phone to sync every 15 minutes
(or where to change that) as well as documentation on how Exchange admins can
control the time-to-listen, security and other management settings.

Where can I get them?

Thanks,
Jon

set the sync frequency on the phone using the menu option in active sync.

so far we don't use server config as it odds the latest exchange, a special
pack for the server and am update for mobile 2005 on the phone. still waiting
for that last one.

t9 is rubbish. I meant needs not odds. Come to think of it, can anyone
develop t9 that copes with typos?
