I plug in my Mobile 6 PPC and it connects through the sync center, but
It forms no partnerships with Outlook 2002 (XP). As I understand it,
you don't use ActiveSync 4.5 in Vista. How do you connect Outlook
with the PPC that shows it is connected through the Sync center. It
only wants to transfer files from Windows Media Player. It does not
seem to see Outlook. How do I get the Sync center to see Outlook?

I seem to see very little about how to connect Outlook to a PPC in the
Vista Operating System. Since it appears to be quite different than
in the past, that surprises me.

Sync center is for syncing media. The Vista-equivalent for Activesync is
"Windows Mobile Device Center" or WMDC.

I tried to search on both the Windows Mobile Device Center and WMDC
and do not get a hit in the Vista search box.

I see a Sync Center, however only the PPC shows up and if I want to
partner, only Windows Media Player seems to be an option. Is Outlook
2002 able to work with this?

It is amazing how few people know anything about this subject. It is
further amazing how empty the hits are if I search on the subject. Is
there anyplace where there are screen shots and step by step
procedures in setting up a PPC on Vista??

You need to download it from the MS web-site. Search for "mobile
device center" at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/

Download WMDC from the link above (sorry about the word wrap- you'll
probably need to cut-n-paste), plug in your device and follow the prom=
