Outllok rules stopped after installed Marc (St Pete, 03-09-2006

After changing Outlook from an Internet setup to a Corporate setup, one of my
rules broke.
I recieve mail from two accounts on the (same) ISP mail server. Connection 1
moves mail from the sever to my Inbox. I had a rule, that moved mail from
Connection 2 to a different folder (New-Inbox). One address is basically my
spam catcher...
Anyway, when I tried to reset the rule, I get this error messge:

"This rule is not available in the current mode.".
The rule was, Apply this rule after the message arrives
when received through the pop-server (1) account
move it to the New Inbox folder

How do I fix this so I can have two internet mail accounts delivered and
still use WSD?

This is better asked in the Outlook newsgroups, but it may be as simple as
deleting the current rule and the creating it once again.

I did forget to say that I tried that. The rule option "when received through
the XXX account" is not even available. Perhaps you are correct that this
question should be moved to Outlook. I stuck it here because Microsoft should
know that installing their search tool caused a problem and maybe they need
to change the software. Before I installed WDS, I had been using Lookout and
it did not require Outlook to be configured to the Corporate mode...
Interesting! I'm new to this discussion group.
I'm not sure how to move this to Outlook.. I guess I need help with htat
too...

Thanks for taking time to answer... Marc

Here's the link to the Office Newsgroups. There are a few for Outlook:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx

You mention Corporate mode. I assume that you are using Outlook 2000 or older.
You might want to consider an upgrade as the latest versions of Outlook no
longer have multiple modes - they are all one mode. One option to consider for a
reasonable upgrade would the Microsoft Outlook Live.
http://join.msn.com/?page=outlook/olc
$44.95 per year right now for 12 months of a Hotmail Premium account and a copy
of Outlook 2003 with any upgrades that will occur during your subscription
period. Should you choose not to renew, you can continue to use Outlook, but the
Hotmail account would revert to a free account. Outlook 2007 is due out by the
end of this year...

The Desktop Search is supposed to support Outlook 2000 and greater, though. I am
not aware of any requirement to switch to the Corporate mode in order to use
Search with it, but since I haven't tried it... Where was the information that
made you switch Outlook modes?

Yes - I'm using Outllok 2000. And yes - I'm gonna upgrade to all 2003
products - I just haven't gotten to it yet. Chuckle - I didn't even know
there was a Corporate mode! When I installed WDS, it didn't let me continue
until I reconfigured Outlook (I even had to dig out my old Office CD!). Again
I really appreciate your time and the links...
