Hi,

I have exactly the same problem with the MSN Desktop Search.
I want to search for a name, e.g. "Haller". While I'm typing ("Hall",
"Halle") I get a lot of results including "Haller". When i have finished
typing "Haller", there are no results.
We have also German keyboard and Windows settings.
Is there any solution so far?

Thank you for any reply!
Andreas

Have you implemented any group policies?

Can you be more specific? I think there is no one in an AD environment that
has implemented no GPO's

Hi Franz,

Sorry to be vague, have you used the Windows Desktop Search .ADM file to
issue any group policies for WDS?
Specifically have you pushed out any Group Policies to restrict indexing of
network shares or drive locations??

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi

No, have try to install the standalone and the enterprise version of desktop
search, and have never configured any GPO's or used the desktop search adm
templates. Have the same problem with any version: index built without
errors, getting the message "index complete - you can start searching" and
get always 0 results regardless of the search string entered.
