Not Syncing Contacts or Calendar GCS Tech 02-13-2008

I recently updated my Office suite to 2007 from 2003. I have the latest
updates to Office 2007. I have ActiveSync 4.5 installed. I have tried
several times to uninstall and reinstall ActiveSync, soft and hard reset my
PDA (Dell AximX51) with no luck. When I connect my device to the cradle,
ActiveSync acts like it is working correctly. It will even say it is
synchronized. However, there are no appointments, emails, or contacts that
get pushed to the PDA. I did experiment a little and found that if I create
a new note, it does sync to the PDA. Strangely, in E-mail options, it
correctly identifies all my message folders and I can select them fine. My
PDA also has the correct sturcture on it, but no messages are even synched.
During synching the status may even report 100/400 items synched and quickly
move on to synchronized.

I'm at a loss as to what to try next.

Hi,
Did you install ActiveSync 4.5 after Outlook 2007? Did you try moving the
contacts to another folder, sync and then move them back one at a time until
you find the ones that do not sync? You can try the same with the
calendar.

I installed ActiveSync 4.5 first when I had Outlook 2003. After upgrading
to 2007, it has exibited the behavior I describe in my original post. I
have since reinstalled ActiveSync 4.5 many times with no change.

I have tried moving contacts out of the folder, syncing, moving them back
in, and re-syncing. Still no contacts are listed on the PDA. I only have
contacts set to sync in ActiveSync too.

Hi,
Did you move the contacts back one at a time and synchronize them? There is
probably a contact that is causing the problem.

Yes. I moved all my contacts out of my contact folder to another temp
contact folder. I then moved 1 contact back into it and sync'd. The
contact did not appear on my PDA. I removed that contact and put a
different one in. It still did not appear on my PDA. I though maybe it was
a category issues, so I removed the categories from the contacts in question
and they still did not sync to my PDA. I then created a contact on my PDA
and sync'd. This time a contact appeared in my contacts folder in Outlook,
but had no populated fields (everything was blank). When I deleted my
contact on my PDA, it did not delete it from Outlook. I'm currently only
sync'ing my contacts folder.
