If there is a dot "." in the server's address, than it is assumed to be on
the internet. What it looks like, is that you have an Exchange Server, which
lies inside your corporation.
Use the short name as your Exchange server. In the connection setting for
"My Work Network" configure the VPN.
On the PC's ActiveSync select the "Work Network" in the Connection Settings
for the PC on the Work's LAN.
