We are seeing serious ongoing issues with MSN Search's geolocation
ranking system. Recently our company have been assigned a new /19 of
address space from RIPE. This IP space is correctly registered as being
used in the UK.
MSN Search are not recognising this IP space correctly for searches via
msn.co.uk. All searches via msn.com are fine and returned correctly.
Unfortunately searches via msn.co.uk are not returning the sites using
this new IP space, and querying the site index (syntax
'site:domain.com') with "Only from United Kingdom" selected shows sites
on this address space are not even in the UK-only index. We believe
this effects one or more /8 netblocks (potentially millions of IPs).
Does anyone know a suitably technical contact at MSN Search who can
help resolve this, or is there an MSN rep. reading this who can assist?
Please feel free to contact me directly.
To re-iterate, this is not an end-user issue, it is a technical issue
which needs to be addressed by those beyond the first-line pre-written
replies that MSN seem to provide via their support forms. The same
problem has existed and been corrrected already by the Google technical
team.
Thank you.
