Hello Newsgroup,
Well, it's final, diyhosting isn't an option for an ASP project I've been
porting.
We need a host - fast.
I've been talking with someone about hosting, but time constraints being what
they are, would be nice to have a backup host just in case he doesn't respond
in time.
Here is what we need:
Windows ASP. (not my favorite platform, but can't be helped here...)
multiple domains. (at least 2 subdomains)
SSL
Jmail component. (http://www.dimac.com)
- If you're willing to install this for a small fee, that would
be OK. Right now, we just need to test the cursor stuff, as that
seems to be the weak spot.
ODBC DSN - (With ability to choose the name if at all possible, the application
has it's DSN hard-coded in over a hundred spots)
mysql - Perfer UNIX side mysql, but any mysql *within same network* should work.
Hosting the mysql server outside the local network isn't a good option.
the usual email/pop stuff.
ftp access.
Now, the kicker... we need client side cursors.
We can test out the client side cursor stuff if we're given 1 week trial account.
The catch is we need to have this up & running by wednesday. Probably not even
enough time to get DNS propagated.. :-(
I'm currently talking with someone about getting this stuff set up, Just
in case he doesn't respond in time, (within <24 hours) an alternative "just in case"
would be nice.
We wasted too much time with 1 host, now we're in hot water. :-/

"Windows ASP" is not a platform. Which VERSION of IIS do you need? My
host (www.easycgi.com) has some pretty up-to-date Windows servers, and
they support .NET 1.1. They have always been really good to us.
