Hi all,

I am having trouble getting my WM5 smartphone to connect to internal
websites. If I enter http://intranet (for example) I get an error "cannot
connect with current connection settings" but I can connect using the ip
address. I get the same response for oma, owa, crm etc.

However, if I go to wifi manager (I am currently connected using wifi, but
the symptoms are the same whether i use wifi, bluetooth or usb), go to the ip
info tab and ping, I can ping the name and get a response from the correct ip
address.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Regards
Ben

Usually I would think if you can look up via IP and not URL, then its
a DNS server issue on the network. You may want to try to change your
network settings

Start - Settings - Connections - Connections - Advanced - Network
Management, this allows you to access your network profiles.

Hi Jasper,

thanks, you pointed me in the right direction. It wasn't that there was a
DNS issue on the network (using the ping function I could resolve names) it
was that under network management I had told it to use GPRS to always access
the internet rather than the wireless network.

Cheers
Ben
