NTSC Cable Tuner plus ATSC OTA HD tuner Setup Shanklo 05-24-2008

I Have a Dell E510 with ATI tuner card receiving Basic cable that has worked
great. I have recently gotten a Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick USB HD tuner.
Every where I have read has stated this should work and when I set it up it
does add the HD channels to the guide in the 1000 range and I can watch these
channels but when I try to switch a channel on the analog cable tuner I get
"Tuner Not Available". If I unplug the USB tuner I can immediatly begin
watching the preciously unavailable tuner. Where have I gone wrong.

Any Suggestions?

If the analog tuner on your Pro stick shows up in device manager make sure
you disable it so that only the already installed NTSC tuner shows up.

All I see in device manager is a single entry for the Pro Stick - "Pinnacle
PCTV 800e"

Uninstall and remove the usb tuner and reboot and insure that only your
previous tuner shows up in device manager. Then shutdown and reinstall your
pro stick and when you configure it in MC make sure that you only try and
configure its digital tuner since it appears that it is trying to configure
the analog tuner on the prostick and it cannot since it does not have a
separate DSB compatible driver.
Are you on MCE2005 or Vista?

I have the same problem, with my Hauppauge PVR150 and Pinnacle PCTV 800e. I
see only one device for the Pinnacle in device manager, but it does appear to
conflict with my analog Hauppauge tuner. Either tuner configured separately
works perfectly, but I can't get 'em to play nice together -- if I pick
auto-config, it says my Hauppauge will not be configured because no signal
exists. If I try the manual config, I get to choose "antenna" or "cable" --
and I only get one shot since it clears everything when you "Set up your TV
signal."
I must be missing something. Oh, right -- I'm running MCE2005 R2.
