Does this take place before you get a login prompt, or after you login? Is
this a recent problem or has it been happening since you bought your system?
How old is your system? As I'm not familiar with the specs for your system,
can you tell us things like: CPU, and speed, amount of RAM, what cards are
in your system, which drivers those cards use? Have you ever changed any
BIOS settings?
We should be able to figure this out...
