My Dash doesn't synchronize through Bluetooth... Frank 06-05-2007

Hi,

I got a new T-Mobile Dash and upgraded it to MS Mobile 6.0.
I have a Dell Latitude D610 with Bluetooth Stack from Toshiba v4.00.20(D).

I can synchronize with the USB cable.
I can synchronize with Bluetooth my old Nokia and use my headset.

What is strange that the Phone shows up as a network access point on the
Bluetooth app on my Dell.
In any case, I tried a lot and my phone doesn't synchronize with the PC.
When I delete all bluetooth devices and readd from laptop I'm getting a
message that the phoen refused connection.

Any ideas are welcome!

I assume you paired your Dash to the PC from the PC? WinMo phones need
to do it the other way around- you need to do it from Activesync on the
Dash, and setup the BT partnership from there. Then you can initiate BT
syncs from the device (never the PC!)

Hi,

I deleted all the partnerships again and re-added from the phone. The phone
claims success. However, Is till can't sync.
When I open the ActiveSync on the phone I select: connect with Bluetooth. It
states that there is no partnership. I go through the process and select the
PC that I just added. This is repeats itself.

Do I need to setup a "COM" port? On the laptop side I noticed that the
ActiveSync doesn't have Bluetooth listed as a device. Just USB, COM's, DMA,
IR.

Oooops. Sorrry- forgot about that! Yes- you need to tell activesync on
the PC to use whatever COM port your PC's BT adapter uses.

That seems to be the problem. Don't know how to to this. My Toshiba
Bluetooth stack seems to recognize it as a "network access point" not as a
COM port. There doens't seem to be a manual mode to have it recognized as a
COM port.
I can add COM ports in the Bluetooth COM port seetings under the control
panel. However, I can't assign anthing.
Not sure how to to this.
