We have moved development away from the Symbol Palm OS devices
(SPT1800) to Symbol Windows CE devices (MC1000).

Our clients would have a 4 port serial port cradle attached to a
machine with the Palm Desktop and Hotsync Manager running. They could
just drop them all in the cradle and each device would get hotsynced in
turn in the order they were put in the cradle with no human
intervention.

We are now using a 4 port usb cradle attached to the machine running
ActiveSync 4.2. Is it possible to get the same functionality as we got
with the Palm devices? I know ActiveSync will only allow one active
connection at a time, but if you disconnect the current device the next
one does not automatically connect. Is there a way to make the next
device connect without switching it off and on or taking it out of
cradle and putting it back?

Our clients are not going to be happy at having to manually sync each
device in turn rather than shove them all in the cradles and go off and
make a coffee while they all sync.

Cheers

Hi,
ActiveSync does NOT support the synchronization of more than one device at a
time. There is no workaround for this.

I suggest that you contact Symbol and ask them to complain to Microsoft so
this gets considered for future releases.
