I agree.
Worst case scenario is a brief glitch if one host or the other louses up.
But they'd have to try hard!
Updating the site is another story, and you can mimimise problems there by
planning well ahead, and working in stages if possible (giving SEs time to
assimilate one section before you start the next). You'll also be planning
the extent of 301s and whether you need to change names at server level.
