Despite initially configuring my pool of Motorola Mpx220 Smartphones to
synchronise with my exchange 2003 server, there are now problems.
Bizarrely, they can send emails out, but cannot receive any. Outlook
Web Access works fine.
My configuration followed tried and tested methods, which I got from
the 5 part series of articles published by Thomas Shinder:
http://www.isaserver.org/articles/pubowa2003part5.html. (I configured my own certificate which I installed on both the default
website on exchange server and ISA server. Then I configured SSL to SSL
bridging. I configured a web-publishing rule on ISA. I used a hosts
file to configure DNS for ISA to locate default web site).
The setup of the network is simple. ISA2000 and Exchange2003 (SP1) are
on the same physical server, the ISA server listening to the internet
gateway on the public network adapter. The default website was renamed
to be the same as both the certificate FQDN, certificate authority FQDN
and public access FQDN.
The problem started a few months after everything had been working
fine. The only thing I can think of that changed on exchange server was
that I installed Microsofts' Intelligent Message Filter. I also
configured recipient and sender filtering. However, I tried turning
this off, and also IMF, but no joy.
I am now completely at a loss but am considering applying Exchange 2003
Service Pack 2 to see if that helps, as it is meant to have better
Outlook Mobile Access functionality.
Any ideas anyone? Please?
