My HTC S710 was working great up unitl a couple of weeks ago. For some
reason, it now gets stuck and will hang while syncing. The icon just spins
and hitting stop does nothing. It will do this forever (well, until the
battery drains which is pretty fast so it must be doing something). I have
to restart the device and them most of the time I can get a half day or so of
normal syncing. This is my 5th smartphon and I am a SOftwar Engineer so I
believe I have done just about everything I can think of to get this to work.
My last effort was to get my companies IT dept to blow away my Mailbox,
rebuild it completely and I uploaded just the very basic mail, calender and
contacts (which I cleaned with scanpst). That bought me a whole day. There
are others that use Mobile 6 and ar ehaving no issues so it is not a firewall
thing. Everytime I try something new I completely reset my Smartphone and
delet teh partnerhsip on the phone so I can start out fresh. I am a huge MS
Smartphone fan but this has just about pushed me to the edge (100+ hours and
counting). HELP!

Had the same: one of my additionally installed apps. caused that.
You may want to try and deinstall (or at least disable) apps, that hook
themselves into the sync window (if you have any such).

Thanks Michael, but I have no apps installed other than the factory defaults.
I had Elecont Weather installed for awhile but I took that off a long time
ago. Now, every time I try somethign new I just wipe the phone clean and
start again.

I phoned HTC Canada and they had no clue. I emaild the UK group and have
had no response.

Its too bad because I was making some traction with the IT group here
convincing them that Smartphones were way better than Crackberries. I now
look like an idiot; all my troubles have just confirmed their beliefs in MS
software.

I don't have much of a defense unfortunetly. Any other suggestions would be
welcome, thanks again.
