I recently bought a motorola q from US Cellular. I love the phone.
although there IS a learning curve. But WHY< WHY, WHY is there no
Microsoft reader for this platform. I bought this phone to REPLACE my
pda. This is just intolerable Microsoft. I know there is an
alternative in Tiny Reader, but it costs MONEY, and I'm on disability
It took me 3years to save up for this phone!!. This lack of a reader
is a deal killer. It can't be that hard to port this to smartphone.

Unfortunately, the PPC port of MS Reader is abandoned, don't even expect it
to be ever ported.

You'll want to go for alternative readers; for example, MobiPocket (even the
free version!) is WAY better than MS Reader. Also, you'll need to use
ConvertLIT to convert your old LIT files into HTML files, which, later, can
be given MobiPocket (even without making a native file of them)

What is wrong with the built in File Viewer? I can read Excel, Word, and
PDF files so far with no added software.

The OP asked about MS Reader, that reads ebooks saved in the .lit
format. Your smartphone can't read those.

I assume the issue is that the OP already has a bunch of .lit books
he wants to utilize.

If so, Werner's suggestion is probably best.

Word has a lot of disadvanatges compared to Mobipocket - for example, the
inability to really nice scrolling and retaining the last position.
