My toshiba laptop came preloaded with Media Center Edition, and it has a
built in IR port. I want to get a MCE remote. I once saw one packaged with
an external IR receiver that said if your computer has IR built in, to get
the remote without the receiver. Microsoft doesn't even sell a remote
without a receiver. Soooo, my question is, if I get the remote with the
receiver, can I set it up without the receiver, using my built in IR port?

Also, if I upgrade to Vista later, will I have to get a Vista remote, or will
the MCE remote run the Vista Media Center?
