Managing SSL certificates DPM 10-14-2008

Platform: Server 2003 R2 SP1 (IIS6.0)

I'm trying to get a SSL server cert installed. The information I have says:

To assign a server certificate to a Web site:
1. In IIS Manager, expand the local computer, and then expand the Web Sites
folder.
2. Right-click the Web site or file that you want, and then click
Properties. Depending on whether you are configuring a Web site or a file,
select either the Directory Security or File Security tab, and under Secure
communications, click Server Certificate.

The problem is that the "Server Certificate" button is grayed out. I went
through this once, but the cert was wrong and I deleted it. Now I don't
seem to be able to repeat the process.

I've restarted the HTTP SSL service, but it made no difference.

Can someone give me a few pointers on how to get the Server Certificate
wizard running again?

Thanks,
Dean

Make sure you are clicking on the Web site itself, not a virtual directory
or application below the Web site.
Also, make sure you are a member of the local Administartors group

Are you connected directly to the server, through RDP or at the console?

"Are you connected directly to the server, through RDP or at the console?"
At the console.

Here's another question: is the CA supplied with Server 2003 R2 SP1 able to
produce a certificate with the private keys in pfx format? I don't appear
to be able to get one. I added the Web Server template, but specifying it
does not appear to produce a cert in pfx.

Any suggestions? I'm only using the SSL cert for a TGS server in
Server2008, so one signed by my domain CA is fine.

Thanks,
Dean

Then I don't know why the option is not showing. You might try looking in
the certificate store for the server (mmc, certificates snap-in) to see what
is there,
