BTW this newsgroup is the for the Media Center version of windows XP -
However dwwin.exe is the dr watson application which is apart of windows xp.
It handles error reporting. If you want to remove it there is an article here:

It sounds to me like you have some conflicting Java versions. One of the
problems (from a developers point of view) is the fact that Java deprecates
from version to version. What this means in laymans terms is that they remove
parts of Java which are older and have a newer version. This is good and bad.
Good becuase you are removing old code which doesn't absolutely positively
need to be there. The bad is that you break programs that were developed
using this older versions.
Microsoft's stance in these cases has been to not break things. A great
example of this is the DirectX stuff. As a programmer if you wrote a program
that uses DirectX 1 (1994 ish) it will still work with DirectX 9 (current
version).
So anyways now that I have bored you to death.. it sounds like the programs
you are trying to run depend on deprecated Java files which do not exist in
the newer versions of java. I would try and see if the vendor has created new
versions of these.
