MPX220 incoming caller id Al Sholi 04-19-2007

Hi all,

I have lost the capability to display caller ID on incoming calls on my
MPX220. I have an unlocked Motorola MPX220 with T-Mobile service. It started
a week ago when I contacted T-mobile to find out why my name is showing up on
landline phones' caller id when it used to say cellular call before. The
first T-Mobile rep said that he could only block my name and number from
showing up on others caller id, but not the name only. I said to him to do
that. Five minutes after that I received a call on my MPX220 where the caller
id says “unknown number”. Every incoming call after that also said
“unknown
number”, but my outgoing calls still showed my name and number. So what
T-Mobile did was blocking me from receiving incoming caller id. I called
T-mobile back several times over two days, but nothing has changed. I then
contacted Motorola, and I was told that there is no option on the MPX220 to
block incoming caller ID. Motorola said that my only option is to hard reset
my cell phone which will wipe out all my settings, contacts, applications
that I installed, etc. I really don’t want to hard reset my MPX220, but I
WANT my incoming caller ID back. Please help!!

Thanks Todd.

That is a good idea. I will try that later today, and post the results.

I used my SIM card in another cell phone, and I stll wasn't able to get
caller ID. I called T-mobile and spoke to tech support and I gave them a
piece of my mind. The problem was fixed. Thank you Todd for your excellent
suggestion.

My pleasure- however, were you able to get the original problem
addressed? (Blocking your phone's CID from displaying on other people's
CID displays.) Or did you give up because the reward wasn't worth the
risk that they'd screw up your account again? ;-)

Just like you said, I just gave up on that. I couldn't risk having the same
or a different problem come up.
