Is there a way to use your MPX200s phone without a computer to gain access
to a dial-up account I already have? That way I can get movie listings
without having to pay extra for internet access.

As in a 56k dialup? If so then no, the MPX200 doesnt have the protocols
or hardware needed to negotiate a standard v.90/2 56k connection. If
you mean access the connection via the PC again I dont think you can do
that, potentially it would have been possible with a Bluetooth PAN but
that phone doesnt have the functionality to do that out of the box and
I doubt 3rd party drivers were created for it, my recollection of that
generation of phones was a very poor Bluetooth stack and very limited
connectivity. Something that seems to have been finally addressed with
the new WM5 devices with Wireless connections etc.

In short I would say no its not possible but I'd happily be proven
wrong

Your best bet is using the GPRS technology thats on the phone via your
mobile provider.

would this not be setting up a CSD connection but with your own details?

I know I've done this with wm2003SE but I dont know about the MPX200's OS.

AH, OK well GPRS would make more sense except that I do not 'pay' separately
for a data connection. Does that matter?

With both my PocketPC Phone Edition and my Palm based Treo 600 I could use a
dial-up connection.

I have upgraded to WM2003SE on this phone and it apparently does have some
options for it. I just can't get it to connect and don't know how to turn
the sound on for that so that I can hear it try to negotiate. No errors to
assist in my figuring it out either.

If GPRS, how do I go about setting that up?
