We just recd the notebook we bought for our grandson which was supposed to
come with operating system Windows Microsoft Media Edition Center edition
2005. However, when we look in Control Panel / System we see: "System -
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2."
Is something wrong here? Shouldn't the System state: Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center Edition Version 2005?
How do we know if we have MCE Edition 2005?
Please advise as this has us concerned. Thank you.

This is normal, as the core operating system is Windows XP and that version
number is what you see in System Properties. Open the Media Center Interface
and go to Settings, General, About Media Center, Software Version.
