Handheld: iPAQ 1950 WM5
Activesync version 4.2.0
PC: XPP SP2
Outlook version 2007 Beta Technical Release 2

Upon connecting via USB/cradle, I can sync Pocket Quicken and Favorites, and
I can install software. But I cannot sync with Outlook. I opened Activesync
on the PC and clicked Tools|Options and got a Windows Messaging message box
that says: "The MAPI Spooler cannot be started. Close and then restart all
mail-enabled applications."

Searching the MS website, I see that MAPI is controlled by file
mapisp32.exe. I have searched my PC hard drive and cannot find the MAPI
Spooler file mapisp32.exe. Should I have it? If so, how can I either
download it or extract from my system CD?

I need to make this work. I just migrated all my sales and client info to
Outlook 2007 believing it would sync with my new iPAQ.

Thanks.

I was able to find mapisp32.exe on an old Office 97 CD and have cleared that
error. Nowactivesync says synchronization cannot begin because I am not
connected to the network and cannot access information.

Hi,
Do you have any antivirus or antispyware app that could be interferring with
MAPI? Did you install ActiveSync after Outlook?

Have you considered the ActiveSync 4.5 beta?
