 My SPV C600 has just started given warnings that it is low on storage space.
If i get the device info from file manager it agrees that almost all 16mb
are used up.

But i have no idea how. It was only a few mb before i started trying to
synch windows media player to a new storage card tonight. The files are on
the storage card though and i cant see any copied to the device in error so
what is taking up all my storage and how do i find it?

 do you have many email a/c on the phone? apps installed on the phone as
opposed to the storage card and are your temp internet files on the phone as
opposed to storage card?

to empty temp internet files from IE go
menu-->tools--?options-->memory-->clear
