Yes, I've been finding some of the same data you linked to. As you point
out, an alternate way to get what I want would be to find a translator.
I think my best bet is to use BDY files. They are in plaintext format, so I
could just convert them myself. However, it appears that these files only
define the borders between countries once, instead of defining all the
borders of each country seperately. What I mean is, in a BNA file, you
would see the border between the United States and Canada defined twice,
once as the southern border of Canada, and once as the northern border of
the USA. It appears that in BDY files, this border is defined only once and
there is no grouping of all the borders of each conutry. However, I'm only
guessing about this by looking at the files.
Does anyone know anything about a free BDY to BNA converter?
