I hope this is the right forum. There seem to be more Live threads in this
forum than in the actual forum for Windows Live.

Anyway, I've installed MSN Search Toolbar w/ Live Favorites add-in on IE7
Beta 3. The latest version of the add-in installs, but at both work & home,
the Favorites cannot sync. If you hover over the Favorites button, it says
"View synchronization error", but when you click the button, nothing happens.

I must also point out that the first time I logged into Live Favorites (at
both places), I got an error that said "Error contacting the Passport
Network: 0x800b010a", but it does sign me in. I'm able to click on the
little down arrow & Manage Favorites... just fine.

I've tried uninstalling & re-installing a couple different ways to no avail.

Any ideas? Anyone else have a similar issue?

Thanks!
Matt

Finally fixed the problem at both home & work. Although I can't provide a
how-to of sorts, I believe the problem was a result of a bug with me already
being signed into Windows Live Favorites when I was trying to get the Add-in
working.

By signing out of both the Add-in AND the Web site itself, I was then able
to sign-in using the Add-in & it synchronized just fine.

During this process, I also removed the Add-in from the toolbar, readded it,
& "forgot" myself using the add-in options just to be sure all cookies or
whatever of me were gone. Although I think just signing out of the Web site
& add-in did the trick, I'm including these other things I did as other
things to try in case someone else has the same problem.

Woo hoo! I think I'm gonna like this Live Favorites thing. I tried
Google's, but you can't even edit the URL, let alone export them all out of
Google once their in. Argh.

Glad you got that resolved. I was going to point you over to the msn.discussion
group as there is no group for Live Favorites, but since it is the toolbar
add-in, this forum works okay - especially since you solved it yourself. I was
going to suggest deleting all of your \temp files to resolve the problem, but
your solution is just as good.
