Is there a product that will allow us to limit the number of minutes/hours
that a particular login ID is allowed to use a given machine on a particular
day? We want to have a machine where a user can read personal e-mail and
use online chat tools, but we want to limit the login period for each login
user on that machine to no more than one hour each day. I find ways to
automatically log users off after a period of inactivity, but I don't find
any way in the default domain controller tools to limit the amount of time
of login each day.

Actually Will, the inactivity logoff is only for network access such as
to shares. If no one responds with an off-the-shelf product, or code
you could adapt (such as an inet cafe might use) then you would need
to craft something as this is not a built-in capability.
Have you looked at the net-nanny family of products parents use to
regulate child internet usage ?

Hi,

I guess you can write one scirpt with a thread for a login id and once
the given time is off then you can log off.
