How can I get Windows Mobile to leave messages on my ISP's POP3 email server
so they can be downloaded to my desktop at a later time? I want to read
email on my phone, but download it later for storage on my desktop computer.

Thank you in advance,
Steve

Have you tried? Leaving mail on the server has always been the default, and
no direct way to change that is even offered. I have always had to delete a
message on the PPC, then delete it again from deleted items, and
send/receive, to get a message off the server when I wanted to get it off.
Try it with a test message. If it is deleted off the server, I suspect it is
a server feature, not something that can be changed at the PPC.

To expand on Sven's answer, if you don't delete messages on the ppc,
they will remain on the server and disappear from the ppc after your
desktop computer picks them up and deletes them.

_If_ you delete messages on the ppc, how they are handled by the ppc and
the pop3 server is controlled under tools/options in inbox.

Thank you all...that was my problem. I was reading the message on the
phone, and deleting it, which removed it from the server. Grabbing the
message with my desktop computer (which removes it from the server), caused
it to also be removed from my phone. I'll avoid deleting messages with my
phone in the future.

Look at the various options... it seems as if you have the "immediate"
option checked.

With "Manually" checked under tools/options/storage/empty you should
then be able to delete them on your ppc after reading and have them stay
on the server unless you execute a tools/emptydeleteditems in inbox.
