Hello:

Is there a way to keep the screen keyboard on my iPaq hw6945 from
automatically popping up everytime? I like to use it sometimes but it gets
annoying to have it popup every durn time a text box appears on the screen.
If I want to type something I can tap the keyboard icon but the screen
keyboard is usually in the way especially if I'm using the real keyboard.

1. you may want to prefer microsoft.public.pocketpc for these kinds of
questions. This is a touchscreen-less Smartphone newsgroup.
2. as has also been thoroughly elaborated on in my related Bible, there're
several so-called "Null" SIP's to fix this problem. See
http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=368895 for more info.

Thanks for the links.

I'm still unsure just what the nomenclature is for these things.

Do I have a Smartphone or a Pocket PC? I've seen it called a Smartphone in
several places but now you're referring me to the Pocket PC group. I'm not
being critical but I'm very new to these devices so I need to know.

Thanks again

Edwin

That's ok- it's a problem compounded by cell carriers that label
virtually any phone that costs more than $100 a "smartphone!" ;-)

If it has a touchscreen and a stylus, it's a "PocketPC phone." If not,
it's
a "Smartphone."

The old joke is if it's a good PDA with a mediocre phone built-in,
it's a PPC Phone. If it's a good phone with a mediocre PDA built-in,
it's a Smartphone.
